The 2012 Olympic Games are beginning soon. The Olympics are usually a fantastic event that brings people from all over the world together. This year they are in London. Have the Olympics been held in the United Kingdom before?
Can you find out if there has been an Olympics held in your country? Have the Olympics been held in every continent? If not, I wonder why not?
Let me know what you think. You will find the official Olympic site here

Roadrunners studied some about the Olympics before school was out for the summer.
They have been held in the USA. Not in North Carolina but in Georgia and New York and other places.

We read other post over the summer so we’ll look for you now too.

Hi it’s Mika
I live in Australia and there has been an olympics here. apparently I went to the olympics and I vomited all during it. Mum and dad missed a lot of the events because I was sick. Mum wasn’t very happy with me an I understand why!
apparently it is the third time the olympics has been held in Britain. The first time was 1908 and 1948. I wonder if Australia has had more that one olympics held?
Well, I live in Sydney, and quite recently the Olympic Games has been held here. In 2000, Sydney hosted the Games, and a lot of sporting events are still held there today!
According to my research, the British Olympic Games have been held in London in 1908, were meant to be held there in 1944 (were cancelled due to war), 1948, and finally, 2012!
